Be Original—Be Yourself

You are not a mass-produced, factory-made item. You are a unique piece of creation. You are an original specimen of human being different from all other living beings. Not only that, you are also different from all other human beings. You are unique. Don’t give up your uniqueness for anything.

Be original—be yourself. Why would you want to be a carbon copy or, in the present context, a photocopy of someone? Learn from great people. Imbibe their greatness. But, for God’s sake, do not copy them. Do not imitate them. Do things your own way. Maintain your originality.

Just imagine, what sets you apart from others? You have a distinct face. Your eyes, nose, ears—all of them have unique characteristics. No two persons have the same face. You may have a round face or a long face. Or, you may even have an oval face. No two persons have the same kind of eyes, nose, ears, etc. You may have thick lips or you may have a thin lip-line. Your jaw, your chin, your mouth they are all different from others. They may look similar but they are never the same.

Your height is different—you may be tall or you may be short. Your weight is different—you may be heavy or you may be light. Your overall constitution is different—you may be fat or you may be thin.
The way you dress, the colours you like, your food habits—they are all different. Your gait—the way your carry yourself—is different. Your likes and dislikes are different. You are endowed with different qualities. You are blessed with different talents.

You have a unique voice. Your fingerprints are different. Come to think of it: there’s a reason why you have been made different in so many ways. So that you may have a personality of your own.

You are not born to be a Tom, Dick or Harry. You are born to be yourself. You are a brand unto yourself. Build that brand. You may make a mark in history, if you do that. But you will never make a mark by imitating someone. Make your uniqueness your brand and see what happens.

Why would you want to abandon your unique brand and promote some other brand by copying them? Think about it and decide for yourself. Do you want to copy someone and be lost in the crowd of unknown faces? Or, do you want to be someone to reckon with by branding your own personality?
The choice is entirely yours…
