Dreams may not always come true. Dream big all the same. Because, if you dream big, and achieve 10% of your big dream, you may still be better off than achieving 100% of a small-time dream. The best part is that dreams don’t cost you a thing.
Once you dream big and set your larger-than-life goals, remember that it is not going to be a cakewalk for you. Stumbling blocks on your way to success might be a dime a dozen. But you should never get disheartened. You should persevere and press ahead full-steam.
To begin with, you will encounter pessimists on your journey who will give you a hundred and one reasons why your idea will not work. Just brush them aside and move on. Your efforts may get rejected. Don’t bother: it is part of the game. Many successful people have built their life around piles of rejection.
Even friends may try to persuade you that it is better to do a job than starting a business on your own. They will talk of job security. But if you are smart and determined you will not be dissuaded by their discouragement. You will pursue your own dreams. Your relatives and the society at large may also tow the same line and discourage you from being adventurous.
Your colleagues and peers may discourage you in the same way. Or, they may hope in the heart of their hearts that you fail in your venture while they put up a deceptive front which might make you feel that they are your well-wishers.
Ego clashes are natural with your competitors who might have been blessed with an inflated ego. Ego is a small word that could cause massive problems. Learn to deal with egoistic people by nursing their ego.
Things may not work out the way we plan them. When that happens, we become a victim of fear psychosis. We may start doubting our capability to deal with such situations and may give in while we should be taking them as challenges and find our ways around them. We may also be hounded by self-guilt if things don’t move smoothly. We might begin to think that our friends and relatives had a point after all. Before your planning fails, have a Plan-B, Plan-C, Plan-D, and whatever it takes to carry on with your decision if you think you set out on the right path. Never give up on your dreams. The chances are that you will be crowned by success if you persist. Most of us give up when we are at the doorstep of success.
If you manage to withstand all the pressures that come your way and push yourself constantly and consistently, you have greater chances of achieving your goals. You are sure to be crowned by success someday. And, your dreams are bound to come true…sooner or later. The secret of success is to dream big.
