If you want to make the most of your life, you should consider adopting these golden rules of life. These golden rules are the products of careful observations of humankind that have resulted in age-old wisdom.

When you are alone, your thoughts tend to travel in all directions. Mind your thoughts and don’t let them stray away. Control your thoughts and channelize them towards some constructive action. There is a difference between solitude and loneliness. Understand the difference and use it to your advantage.

If you are in the company of your friends, you need to hold your tongue. Sometimes, we freak out and crack jokes that may not be well received particularly if it hurts them in some way. We have to be sensitive toward the feelings of others whenever we are in company. We must remember that not everyone takes everything sportingly and they have a right to do so. So, mind your language when you are in company.

If you are angry, you must do all you can to control your temper and cool down as fast as possible. Because words shot in a fit of anger cannot be retrieved. In fact, they may cause irreparable damage to yourself and your relationships in the time to come.

When you are in a group, try not to do something that might offend others in the group. Keep tabs on your behavior and be courteous towards all. And, follow the etiquettes of group behavior to the very hilt. You don’t want to be labelled a spoilsport.

If you get into trouble, keep your cool. You must ensure that you don’t get too emotional and goof up the situation by acting out of turn. Remember, you would be able to make better decisions with a cool mind. Emotional decisions always leave behind a long trail of regrets.

When God showers his blessings on you and things start going your way, don’t let that go to your head. When you meet somebody, ensure that they are comfortable in your company and do not suffer on account of your inflated ego. The best thing is to lock up your ego in a locker whenever you come in contact with others and deal with them in all humility. It is always better to be remembered for your humility than your ego.

These are some of the golden rules that could make your life easier and help you to lead a more meaningful and happier life.
