A big chunk of the world’s population prefers to adopt a submissive stance in situations and matters that demand grit and determination to stand up and fight either for oneself or for others. However, you need courage not only to fight but also live your life to the fullest. You may be surprised to know that there are several types of courage and they are components that add up to form absolutecourage.
For instance, you need physical courage to fight. You need courage to stand up for yourself and others. You need courage to fight for the right cause and also to fight for the rights of weaker sections of the society who cannot fight for their own rights for obvious reasons.
In a society given to weird and, often, acceptable norms, it takes social courage to live your life on your own terms. It takes courage not to be cowed down by unreasonable dictates of the society. It takes courage to lead a life with freedom that is second to none. You need courage to go after what you really want in life and achieve it.
Everybody wants to lead a peaceful life. We don’t want to engage with uncomfortable situations. Most of us would rather bear atrocities from various quarters and keep silent than raiseour voice against them. It takes moral courage to stand up and fight for righteousness than lick the boots of dictators. It takes courage to swim against the current.
We are endowed with mixed emotions. Some are positive while others are negative. Our emotions constitute our natural response to situations and events. If we have emotional courage, we would be able to express our positive as well as negative emotions without any feeling of guilt or attachment.
Our educational system is flawed, to say the least. It is designed to run the government. It is not designed for personal development of each individual citizen and bring out the best in them. It takes intellectual courage to learn new things. Similarly, it takes courage to unlearn whatever muck we have picked up in the past and start afresh with a clean slate. For, that we need an open and flexible mind.
There’s no point in flowing through life listlessly like drift wood. We must explore the purpose of our being. We need to be focused in approach towards our life and lead a spiritual life to achieve higher levels of spirituality. That calls for spiritual courage.
It takes a lot of courage to lead a meaningful and purposeful life. It takes courage to keep going. It takes courage to never give up. You have a wonderful life ahead. Take courage!
