It is our preoccupation with things that are best left alone that complicates our lives. If only we learn some plain truths of life early in our lives, our life would be much simpler and more enjoyable.
I don’t know why—but most of us tend to live in the past. Some of us even make it our permanent abode. It takes us a long time to realizethat past merely represents our experience. We are meant to learn from our past experiences and move on.
Most of us drift through our lives like driftwood. We tend to move with the tides of the river listlessly. We cannot let that happen. We have to identify the purpose of our life and plan our life accordingly. We must focus on setting our goals and achieving them.
If you walk into an office, you will find that every employee is engrossed in their work. You will find that everybody is super busy. It is as if we need to look busy even if we are not so busy. Otherwise, we may get thrown out of our jobs. So, if you look carefully and monitor their output, you will find that many of them are busy for nothing. It is not how much time the employees put in but how much output they turning in that matters in the end.
What we give comes back to us. That is the law of Karma. So, always spread goodness and positivity and they will come back to you.
Stop being a people pleaser. You will never succeed in doing that. In spite of your best efforts, you will always find someone or the other who is displeased with you. So, just do what appeals to you as the right thing to do and leave it at that.
Intuition is born out of instinct. It is a message from our soul. So, always follow your gut feelings. There’s a reason why you have intuitions. Make use of your intuitions and you will find that it was a godsent opportunity.
You cannot work efficiently if your table is cluttered. So, organize your workspace in such a way that you can find everything you need at the flick of your fingers. Also, line up your papers according to priority so that you deal with them in order of their priority. If you do that the workflow would be much smoother.
Make a clear distinction between your working hours and your personal time. Make sure that you spend reasonable time with your family and on their requirements even if you are swamped with your office work. Unless you strike the right balance between the two, things may get out of your hands sooner or later.
Do your best at all times. If your best is not good enough, work harder and try to give your job better than your best. But, for heaven’s sake, don’t go overboard with perfection. There’s nothing called perfection. So, don’t spend too much time trying to achieve perfection in everything. Everything can be improved upon. And, if you manage to achieve 100% perfection, you would have spent so much more of your time doing that thereby neglecting other things you needed to do. And, in the end, you land up with stagnation and close your doors to improvement.
Focus on being a genuine person. Don’t indulge in unnecessary drama and avoid people who create a scene every now and then. It doesn’t get you anywhere. You are better off without it.
Finally, what people think of you is none of your business. You don’t need to give two hoots to what they think. After all, they are not footing your bills. You are earning your daily bread. So, do what appeals to your mind. Throw others’ opinions out of the windows. Be yourself and enjoy your life thoroughly.
