When Dreams Come True

As far as dreams are concerned, there is an old saying which goes something like this: ‘There’s many a slip between the cup and the lip.’

No doubt, you must dream big because dreams cost nothing. Besides, if you dream big and if even half of that comes true, you would be way ahead of others. At least, you would be ahead of people who did not dream big or did not dream at all.

The problem with us is that when we dream big, we discuss our dreams with every Tom, Dick and Harry who comes our way. Sometimes, this attitude of ours works as a major setback in our progress. Because, everyone thinks of oneself as an expert on every little thing and everyone has a piece of advice for you. Whether you like it or not, most of what they have to offer by way of advice turn out to be bullshit and quite a few of them are downright negative.
If you discuss your dreams with pessimists, they would find 101 reasons to convince you as to why it will not work for you. Then you would wish you hadn’t discussed it with them.

When you start working on your dreams, it is obvious that it may not be such a smooth run through and through. There are possibilities of rejections on the way. You have to accept rejections as part of the game and press ahead with resolve.

As far as friends are concerned, either they will encourage you or discourage you when you share your dreams with them. Irrespective what they do, you need to maintain your calm and adopt a positive attitude.
When you discuss your dreams with elderly people, they would be happy to dole out their expert advice. If you don’t accept their guidance, you may be headed for an ego clash.
Though relatives are usually well-wishers and their intentions are bona-fide, they go overboard with their ideas sometimes and become overbearing. In the ultimate tally of things, they end up causing more damage than good to you.
Haters are haters for what they are, and you cannot expect anything positive from them. So, it is better to give them a wide berth when it comes to discussing your dreams.

Whenever we embark on something new, we are confounded by uncertainties. This gives rise to fear of the unknown. Though we may not be able to lay our finger on what it is, it affects us all the same.

Sometimes I find the society’s attitude rather strange. They would advocate one thing and sock you if you don’t follow their dictates. But if you succeed in life after sidelining their wishes, they will admire you for your success.

When we chase our dreams, and fail to get there, a sense of guilt pervades our inner being and that shows up in our behaviour.

When things go off the track, we get into a state of self-doubt. That takes a toll of our confidence and pushes us into the realm of confusion.

Bosses are often bossy and many of them still believe the old adage: ‘the boss is always right.’ So, what they say should be taken with a little bit of salt and pepper.

If you still manage to cross all these hurdles and come out a winner in the obstacle course, your goal welcomes you with open arms. And, you will find that many of those who discouraged you when you were going full-steam, would be waiting for you with bouquets in their hands to greet you and congratulate you on your success.

Your dreams come true when you achieve your goals and success crowns your efforts. Happy dreaming!
